The Phoenix Titan is a fire-resistant safe designed to protect both paper documents and digital data. It has been independently tested and certified to:

• NT Fire 017, Level 60 Paper – provides 1 hour of fire protection for paper documents (such as files, certificates, and records).

• MTC-DIP120-60DM, Grade B – provides 1 hour of fire protection for digital media including backup tapes, external hard drives, memory cards, and USB sticks.

In addition to fire resistance, the Phoenix Titan also offers strong burglary protection. Its build is comparable to a lightweight burglar-resistant safe, fitted with 16 mm chrome-plated locking bolts for enhanced strength.

The safe carries an insurance rating of £2,000 for cash and £20,000 for valuables. Bolts are fitted at the top and bottom of the door, and with the hinges positioned on top, the door can open fully to provide unrestricted access to the contents.

The Titan is especially suited for securing external hard drives, USB devices, and other forms of data storage alongside important paper documents.

The Titan can accommodate A4 documents and is spacious enough for files. Every model includes a removable pull-out drawer at the top and key hooks on the inside of the door for added organisation.

Fireproof Certification – 60 Minutes for Paper

The Phoenix Titan II Series is certified to NT Fire 017, Class 60 Paper, ensuring documents remain protected for up to 60 minutes in extreme heat.

During certification, the safe is placed in a pre-heated furnace at 1090°C to simulate a severe fire. The safe must keep the internal temperature low enough to protect sensitive paper documents throughout the one-hour test.

Construction Features

The Titan is built with a special fire-resistant material and includes an intumescent seal around the door frame. This expands when exposed to heat, sealing the safe tightly against fire and smoke ingress.

For burglary resistance, the door includes thief claws on the hinge side, which grip into the frame to protect against hinge-based attacks. The locking system uses 16 mm chromed steel bolts for additional strength.

Anchoring

The safe is designed with two anchoring points in the base and comes supplied with fixing bolts. It can be securely installed into both wooden and concrete floors.

Drop and Impact Test

The Phoenix Titan II FS1283E has also been tested for strength against building collapse scenarios. In the factory drop and impact test, the safe is dropped from a height of 9.15 metres onto rubble, then immediately returned to the furnace for another 30 minutes of fire exposure.

To pass, the internal temperature must remain below 177°C throughout the test. The Titan successfully meets this requirement, ensuring documents and data remain protected even under extreme conditions.

Locking System

This model, the Phoenix Titan II FS1283E, comes fitted with a digital electronic lock. The lock allows for one user code and an optional dual-code setting.

The batteries are replaceable from the outside, meaning the safe can always be opened even if the power runs low. Unlike key locks, there’s no risk of keys being lost or copied without permission, making the electronic option both reliable and secure.
